Can You Do It?

Years ago (over 40…) I remember, I was on my day off from my role as a counselor at an overnight camp…I was in a tent with a couple of friends…and one of them said, “repeat after me…” and then repeated the entire piece below. We continued to practice and by the next morning, we had the piece memorized for the rest of our lives…I don’t know why I thought of it this morning…but I wondered…do I still have it? So I wrote it to share with you…(It’s fun to do with kids). I ended up googling one hen, two ducks to see what I could find…did I remember all the words correctly, after all, I was sharing it publically now…and I found the two videos below. I had no idea it was something real. It was actually an announcer’s test for prospective radio talent in the 1940s (see second video below).

I Wonder:  Are the days gone where we  totally unplug and entertain ourselves by memorizing nonsense? It was a collaborative, hilarious, fun experience I will always remember!
